I have ALWAYS LOVED SHOPPING! Searching for unique pieces to add to my wardrobe or for my home is my favorite pastime!
In support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, I want to highlight some of my favorite #Blackowned businesses! If you are asking yourself how can you contribute to elevating the voices of Black People, #SHOPBLACK.
There are 1,521,494 Black women-owned businesses in the United States (National Women’s Business Council, 2012).
While there are high numbers of black-owned businesses in places like New York, Washington DC, and California- many face challenges like lack of capital and cash flow. Fewer African-American small businesses are approved for financing and if are approved, are given higher interest rates. With less capital, African American businesses have less money to invest in marketing, advertising or hiring employees.
The best way to support African American small business owners is to #SHOPBLACK
Please see a list below of African-American owned small businesses to support!
